Israeli court rejects appeal to suspend Abu Hawwash’s administrative detention

Ramallah (QNN)- An Israeli court on Sunday rejected an appeal by the administrative detainee, Hisham Abu Hawwash, who has been on hunger strike for 125 days in protest against his illegal detention without charges or trial.

Jawad Boulos, Abu Hawwash’s attorney, said the Israeli court shied away from its responsibility towards Abu Hawwash and his serious condition, claiming that the prison administration is responsible for deciding to suspend the detention or move Abu Hawwash.

Boulos had requested to suspend Abu Hawwash’s unlawful detention and move him from the clinic of Al Ramlah prison to a civil hospital.

Qaddourah Fares, the head of the Detainees Association, said the court rule is another proof that it is just another repression tool for the occupation.

Hisham Abu Hawwash (40 years old) from Dora, Hebron, is a father of five children, who as arrested in October 2020 under administrative detention without charges or trial. His detention has been renewed three times and he had spent a total of eight years in Israeli prisons.
