Israeli court jails prominent political activist for 2 years

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- An Israeli military court jailed a prominent member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) for two years, a Palestinian rights group said on Monday.

Khalida Jarrar has been imprisoned several times since 2015 by the Israeli occupation and spent numerous terms under administrative detention.

She was released from Israeli jails in February 2019 after spending 20 months in prison, but the Israeli authorities detained her again from her home in Ramallah city in October 2019, and she was accused of joining the PFLP.

A media officer at the Palestinian Aldameer Center for Human Rights, Heba Hamarsheh, told Anadolu Agency the Ofer Military Court, western Ramallah city, central West Bank, also fined Khalida Jarrar NIS4,000 ($1,200).

Jarrar was elected as a member of the Legislative Council in the last Parliamentary elections held in 2006.
