Israeli court approves cable car Judaization project in occupied Jerusalem
Occupied Palestine (QNN) – The Israeli supreme Court has approved a Judaization project to run a cable car over the Old City in the occupied Palestinian capital of Jerusalem.
The project is considered as part of the Israeli campaigns to alter the existing historical, legal and demographic reality of occupied Jerusalem, as it would erase the Palestinian heritage.
On Sunday, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said that the cable car project is an integral part of Israel’s Judaization campaigns targeting occupied Jerusalem and its Old City.
The ministry indicated that the project aims at eroding the Palestinian, Islamic and Christian identity of occupied Jerusalem.
It added that approving and carrying out the cable car project is a dangerous Israeli escalation which threatens the area with major explosions that are difficult to control.
The Ministry appealed the US administration and the international community to put pressure on ‘Israel’ to halt the project in the occupied city.
Earlier, the Israeli Supreme Court has rejected a petition against the cable car project in occupied Jerusalem.
It’s noteworthy to mention that a coalition of institutions petitioned against the cable car project, stressing that it will deal a fateful blow to the city’s ancient landscape.
“What’s left now is the public struggle to stop this insane project,” Hagit Ofran, of Israel’s Peace Now group, which opposes the project, said.
