Israeli bulldozers demolish under-construction school building in occupied Jerusalem

Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- Israeli occupation bulldozers broke into the Al-Salam neighborhood in Anata town in occupied Jerusalem earlier today and embarked on demolishing a school building under construction.

Under the pretext of lacking an Israeli-issued construction permit, the Israeli occupation forces today started demolishing a school building under construction in Al-Salam neighborhood.

Obtaining an Israeli building permit in Area C of the West Bank is impossible, while in East Jerusalem it is close to being impossible forcing Palestinians to risk building on their lands without a permit.

Almost 75 percent of applications for a permit by the Palestinian citizens of Jerusalem are rejected by the Israeli occupation municipality, according to rights groups.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said this week that the Israeli occupation authorities demolished or confiscated 24 Palestinian-owned buildings in the occupied West Bank during the last 2 weeks (between 15-28 of June 2021) leaving 23 Palestinians, including 11 children, homeless. They also harmed 1200 others.
