Israeli blockade causes three deaths and chaos at Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis
Khan Yunis (Quds News Network) – This morning, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported the tragic death of three patients in Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza. The deaths are attributed to the Israeli occupation forces’ ongoing military siege of the hospital and the deliberate obstruction of oxygen supply for almost a week.
In a press statement, the Red Crescent vehemently denied the Israeli occupation’s allegations of delivering oxygen cylinders or any medical supplies to the hospital. The society confirmed that Israeli forces, during their raid yesterday, not only prevented the entry of crucial medical resources but also destroyed existing medical devices and equipment.
The occupation forces further intensified their aggression by physically assaulting the hospital staff, subjecting them to beatings, abuse, and humiliation, according to the Red Crescent. The aftermath of this brutality resulted in the arrest of nine members of the medical and administrative staff, along with four wounded individuals and five patient companions.
The Red Crescent stated, “Israeli occupation forces continue to block the entry of the necessary fuel for the hospital’s electricity generators, despite the fuel reserves being nearly depleted within the next two days.”
The society emphasized that these Israeli measures “threaten to halt the hospital’s operations amid the ongoing blockade, now in its twenty-first consecutive day, impacting patients, the injured, and medical and administrative staff alike.”
