Israeli Attack on Gaza School-turned-Shelter Kills at Least 20 Civilians

Gaza (Quds News Network)- At least 20 Palestinians, the majority of them children, were killed and dozens more injured in Israeli air attacks targeting a school sheltering displaced families in the Bureij camp in central Gaza on Tuesday.
Medical sources reported that at least 20 people were killed in the attack, including about 7 children.

The spokesperson for Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza said several victims remain trapped beneath the rubble following the Israeli attacks on the school shelter and the majority of those injured in the strike are in critical condition.

He added that the hospital is facing a catastrophic situation as a result of the Israeli “massacre”, noting there was not enough medical supplies to deal with the influx of the injured.
Local sources reported that the airstrikes were so intense that the remains of some people were scattered across the rooftops of nearby school buildings. The death toll is expected to rise as rescue operations continue.
The Israeli military reportedly carried out two consecutive air strikes on the building.
The Israeli military said it struck a command centre in Gaza City, claiming it had been used by Hamas fighters to store weapons and plan and execute attacks against Israel.
