Israeli army drops cigarette bribes on Palestinians in Gaza in bid for information on resistance fighters
Gaza (Quds News Network)- The Israeli army has dropped leaflets attached to cigarettes as bribes to gather intelligence on resistance fighters. The leaflets, distributed by drones, carried provocative messages such as “Hamas is burning Gaza,” “Want more?” and “Smoking is dangerous, but Hamas is more dangerous.” The attached cigarettes were meant to entice residents into providing information about Hamas and other resistance groups.

However, despite these efforts, numerous reports indicate that the Israeli army continues to face operational and intelligence failures in Gaza. One of the stated goals of Israel’s military campaign was to eliminate Hamas, a mission that Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari has admitted is not achievable. This has led to growing frustration within the Israeli military ranks.
In a letter to Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, dozens of Israeli reserve officers expressed their disbelief at the repeated claims by senior military officials that victory in Gaza is within reach. According to Israel’s Channel 14, these officers, many of whom have served in Gaza, criticized the overly optimistic statements, which they believe contradict Netanyahu’s ongoing promises of total victory.
On the other hand, Palestinian resistance movements, particularly Hamas, have consistently asserted that the Israeli military resorts to massacring civilians in Gaza as a way to compensate for its failures in targeting resistance fighters and achieving any significant intelligence successes.
