Israeli Army Commits Eight Ceasefire Violations in Lebanon in a Single Day

Beirut (Quds News Network)- The Israeli army committed eight new ceasefire violations in Lebanon on Friday, bringing the total breaches to 319 since the agreement began 31 days ago.

According to the Lebanese National News Agency, the latest violations occurred in the districts of Bint Jbeil (Nabatieh governorate), Tyre (South governorate), and Zahle (Bekaa governorate).

The breaches included airstrikes, artillery shelling, and demolitions. In Bint Jbeil, Israeli artillery hit Aita Al-Shaab twice. In Tyre, the army destroyed houses in Yaroun and Naqoura. Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes flew at low altitudes over Zahle before targeting three sites in the forests of Qousaya.

On Thursday, the Lebanese army reported Israeli military vehicles had crossed into multiple areas in southern Lebanon, committing new ceasefire violations in Lebano. The National News Agency said Israeli vehicles moved through Wadi al-Hujeir to the town of al-Qantara in the south violating Lebanon’s sovereignty.

The fragile ceasefire, in effect since November 27, ended weeks of mutual attacks between Israel and Hezbollah that began on October 8 and resulted in thousands of civilian casualties in Lebanon. The conflict escalated into a wider war on September 23.

Israel claims its actions are defensive, targeting Hezbollah threats. However, data from Lebanon’s Ministry of Health shows that Israeli ceasefire violations have killed 32 people and injured 38 since the agreement began.

In response to these breaches, Hezbollah launched its first attack on December 2, firing rockets at the Roueissat Al-Alam military post in occupied Kfar Shuba hills.

The ceasefire agreement requires Israel to gradually withdraw to the southern side of the Blue Line within 60 days. It also mandates the deployment of Lebanese army and security forces along the border, the dismantling of unauthorized military infrastructure, and the confiscation of unlicensed weapons.

Israel’s aggression in Lebanon has caused significant destruction. Since September 23, the conflict has killed 4,063 people, injured 16,663, and displaced 1.4 million, including large numbers of women and children.
