Israeli airstrike kills two journalists, including son of Al Jazeera’s Wael al-Dahdouh

Gaza (Quds News Network) – Two media workers were killed today, including the son of Al Jazeera’s Gaza bureau chief Wael Al-Dahdouh, while another journalist suffered injuries in an Israeli aerial attack aimed at their vehicle to the west of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, according to local reports.

The reports indicated that an Israeli drone launched a projectile at a journalists’ vehicle in the al-Mawasi region, resulting in the murder of correspondent Hamza, 29, the son of Wael Al-Dahdouh, and journalist Mustafa Thraya. A third member of the press sustained injuries during the airstrike.

The Palestinian Journalists Union has recorded the deaths of 102 media professionals and the harm to 71 others at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces in the sole year of 2023.

Wael Al-Dahdouh had previously suffered the loss of his spouse, son, and daughter during an Israeli aerial attack targeting the residence they sought refuge in, located in the Nusseirat refugee camp at the end of October 2023.
