‘Israel’ to vaccinate Israeli jailers, not Palestinian prisoners

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Israeli Minister of Internal Security Amir Ohana on Saturday said that he ordered to vaccinate jailers and workers at Israeli jails without vaccinating Palestinian prisoners.

Israeli media said the vaccination of Palestinian prisoners has been delayed until everyone gets it.

Israel HaYom reported that reports about a decision to give Palestinian prisoners the vaccine stirred criticism among Israelis.

“In a democratic country such as ours, vaccinating security prisoners before the general population has been vaccinated could spark criticism,” former IPS Commissioner Orit Adato told Israel Hayom.

In the same vein, the spokesman for the Committee for Prisoners and Former Prisoners, Hasan Abed Rabbo, told QNN that the IPS had asked Palestinian prisoner to notify if they want to receive the vaccine.

He added that the Committee demanded that Palestinian prisoners receive the vaccine under supervision by Palestinian or international doctors in order to avoid turning Palestinian prisoners into test objects.
