‘Israel’ tightens up military procedures around Jerusalem

Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- The Israeli army tightened its military procedures around occupied Jerusalem on Friday, preventing hundreds of native Palestinians from performing Friday prayer at Al Aqsa mosque on the second Friday of the holy month.
Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces set up military barriers at all entrances to the old city. They also carried out a campaign to check on worshipers’ IDs.
This comes following a tense night in the holy city after Israeli soldiers and settlers attacked Jerusalemites and their properties, wounding nearly 105 and causing severe damages to their properties. Locals confronted the settlers, who tried to attack worshipers while they were leaving Al Aqsa mosque after they completed Taraweeh prayer.
Outside Jerusalem, the Israeli army tightened procedures at Qalandya and Bethlehem military checkpoints. Worshipers stood in very long lines but only few of them were allowed to enter the holy mouse under the pretext of not being vaccinated for COVID-19.
Despite the Israeli strict measures, hundreds of worshipers succeeded to reach the holy mosque through bypass ways.
On the first Friday of Ramadan the number of worshipers at the holy mosque shrank to half in comparison with the number of worshipers on the first Friday of 2019 Ramadan.
