Israel starving over 9,000 Palestinian prisoners in its jails: advocacy group

Ramallah (Quds News Network) – A Palestinian prisoner advocacy organization said in a new report that Israel is starving more than 9,100 Palestinian detainees in its prisons.
“Israeli prison authorities continue to starve more than 9,100 detainees, including women, children and sick,” the Palestinian Prisoner Society, a local NGO, said in a press statement on Monday.
“Israel is also restricting their freedom to practice their religious rituals,” it said.
“Starvation is the most dangerous policy pursued by the Israeli occupation since Oct. 7, in addition to torture and abuse,” the prisoner society said.
The developments coincide with the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, resulting so far in over 31,000 Palestinians killed and nearly 70,000 others injured.
The Israeli aggression has also pushed Gaza’s population, particularly in northern Gaza, to the verge of starvation.
