Israel Shares “Calm” Video from Gaza Aid Center as Its Army Kills Dozens at Other Distribution Points
Gaza (Quds News Network)- While Israeli authorities published a video showing order and calm at a US-Israeli aid center in Gaza during a visit by US envoy Steve Witkoff, Israeli forces killed at least 5 Palestinians at other distribution points across the besieged enclave on Friday.
The footage, taken from one of the headquarters of the infamous Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), shows people in organized lines receiving aid and chanting for Witkoff. No gunfire can be heard. The video was taken during a visit by US envoy Steve Witkoff. Israel used the clip to claim aid operations were proceeding safely.
But on the ground, the reality was starkly different.
According to hospital sources in Gaza, five of the 24 killed today were starved civilians trying to get food. The rest died in Israeli airstrikes or shelling in multiple areas, including Gaza City, Jabalia, Deir al-Balah, and Khan Younis.
In the most recent attack, Israeli tanks opened fire on starved civilians waiting for aid in the al-Shakoush area of Rafah, southern Gaza. Three were killed, and at least 30 others were injured.
This attack occurred while Witkoff was still in Gaza, inspecting the GHF-run center. Since the US-Israeli foundation began handling aid distribution in late May, over 1,370 Palestinians have been killed and 8,800 injured near its death trap centers, according to the United Nations and Health Ministry.
Earlier Friday, Israeli jets bombed tents sheltering displaced families in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, killing seven people. Later, a house near Nasser Medical Complex in the same city was struck, leaving several injured.
Tanks also shelled central Khan Younis and the town of al-Qarara, east of the city.
In Gaza City, civil defense teams reported five people killed and more than 20 injured in Shuja’iyya, following an Israeli bombardment.
Other neighborhoods east and south of Gaza City, including al-Tuffah, al-Zaytoun, and al-Rimal, were also targeted. Airstrikes on al-Rimal in the west killed and wounded several residents.
In Jabalia in the north, Israeli drones targeted a group of Palestinians, causing deaths and injuries. Meanwhile, in Deir al-Balah, an airstrike on a civilian car killed four people. Occupation forces also fired near the Netzarim corridor in central Gaza, wounding more Palestinians.
Since Israel resumed its military offensive in March, nearly 9,100 Palestinians have been killed and over 35,000 injured, according to the Health Ministry.
Despite the high death toll and repeated attacks near “aid centers”, Israeli and US officials continue to promote the GHF’s operations as a “model” for humanitarian relief.
But for Palestinians on the ground, especially the starving and displaced, the only constant is the deadly risk of seeking food.
A 15-year-old Palestinian was shot and killed by Israeli forces during a military raid in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus on Thursday, marking the fifth Palestinian killed by Israeli forces and settlers in three days amid a surge in attacks.
Three Palestinians were killed in an Israeli strike targeting a vehicle in central Gaza on Thursday, including two civil defense workers, in another breach of the so-called ceasefire agreement amid continued daily attacks.
Israeli soldiers have been looting large amounts of civilian property from homes and businesses in southern Lebanon during the recent assault, according to a Haaretz report. The looting is widespread among Israeli forces, with similar incidents previously reported in Syria, Gaza, and during the previous assault in Lebanon.
