‘Israel’ sentences Gilbou’s six breakers to five years prison

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- An Israeli court sentenced today Gilbou’s six breakers, who decided to free themselves from the high-security prison in September, to five years jail time.

The six detainees — Mahmoud Ardah, Mohammed Ardah, Iham Kamamji, Yaqoub Qadri Munadil Infaat and Zakaria Zubeidi, the former leader of Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade and a Fatah activist, were also handed an eight-months probation, as well as a 5000 shekel ($1487) fine.

Five more inmates convicted of assisting in the escape plan were sentenced to four years jail time and a three-month to six-months probation.

The Six Palestinian detainees managed to free themselves on September 6 2021, from Gilbou prison, a high-security Israeli prison, through a secret tunnel they had reportedly dug beneath the prison.

Four of the six breakers, Mahmoud Ardah, Mohammed Ardah, Yaqoub Qadri, Zakaria Zubaidi, were rearrested by the Israeli occupation on September 11, after five days of large-scale sweep operations throughout occupied Palestine using high-tech systems and the two others, Infaat and Kamamji, were rearrested on September 19, after 13 days.
