‘Israel’ said preparing for possibility that 75,000 Ukrainian Jews to immigrate to occupied Palestine
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Israeli occupation government is preparing for the possibility that 75,000 of Ukrainian Jews will want to immigrate to occupied Palestine in the event of a Russian invasion of the country, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported on Sunday.
According to the daily, representatives of various government offices and groups met on Sunday to discuss such an eventuality, among them the Israeli occupation Prime Minister’s Office, Foreign Minister, War Ministry, Diaspora Affairs Ministry and the Jewish Agency.
The report noted that some 75,000 people living in eastern Ukraine will want to immigrate to Israeli-occupied Palestine and they are believed “eligible for Israeli citizenship.”
It noted that ‘Israel’ has long had plans for the mass evacuation of Jews from various countries should the need arise, and has updated those plans for Ukraine due to the rising tensions.
A total of 11,824 new Israeli colonizers arrived in occupied Palestine between January and June 2021 – up 30 percent from the same period in 2020, but 20 percent lower than the same period in 2019, according to figures published by Israel’s Ministry of Aliyah and Integration.
Americans who made aliyah ( North American immigration to ‘Israel’) were far more likely than immigrants from any other country to move to occupied West Bank settlements in 2020, ,constituting more than 8 percent of United States citizens who immigrated to occupied Palestine in 2020 and comparing with less than 3 percent of those making aliyah from France and less than 2 percent of the immigrants from Russia and Ukraine who moved to occupied West Bank settlements.
There are nearly 700,000 Israeli settlers living in 256 illegal settlements and outposts scattered across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Israeli settlements are illegal under international law.
The number of amputees in Gaza Strip, already between 5,000 and 6,000, is expected to rise as Israel continues to restrict the entry of much-needed aid, including medical supplies, into the war-torn enclave, a humanitarian organization has warned. The alert comes after two years of genocide and despite the so-called US-backed ceasefire.
