‘Israel’ renews decision to close Palestine TV office in Jerusalem

Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- The Israeli occupation authorities on Monday renewed an earlier decision to close the office of the Palestine TV in occupied Jerusalem and prevent its crews from working in the Palestinian capital and the 1948 land.

Israeli Minister of Public Security, Gilad Erdan, renewed his decision to close the office of Palestine’s official TV and prevent its crews from covering events in Jerusalem and the 1948 land for another six months under the pretext of being affiliated with the Palestinian Authority.

The renewal of the decision was announced after summoning the TV’s correspondent, Kristine Rinawi, for interrogation at the Russian interrogation center in occupied Jerusalem.

Rinawi’s summon is the fifth during the last six months.

The Shin Bet and Israeli police had cracked down on the office of Palestine TV on November 20, 2019, and announced closing it for six months.

Israeli forces also repeatedly arrested and summoned staff of the TV channel for interrogation.

The Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation stressed that it rejects the decision of the Israeli authorities.

The PBC stated in a press release that the Israeli decision is arbitrary and violates international law because it prevents Palestine TV from working in East Jerusalem, which is an occupied Palestinian territory recognized by over 140 countries as a capital city for occupied Palestine.

The statement added that the Israeli violation of the right of expression reflects the Israeli constant fear of truth while the occupation state tries to cover up its crimes.
