Israel re-opens gates of Al Aqsa mosque
Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- The Israeli police has re-opened the gates of Al Aqsa mosque in occupied Jerusalem on Wednesday.
Local resources said that the Israeli police re-opened the gates on the dawn of Wednesday and allowed worshipers to get in.
Dozens of Palestinian worshipers have performed Isha’ prayer on Tuesday in front of Al Asbat gate after closing all gates by the Israelis.
Israeli forces have broke into the Dome of the rock prayer room inside Al Aqsa mosque compound and assaulted worshipers, which resulted for 6 worshipers to be wounded and 4 others to be arrested before forcefully evacuating the mosque.
Israeli Haaretz claimed on Wednesday that the main reason behind the Israeli decision to re-open the mosque for Palestinians is Israel’s fear that any escalation in the mosque would effect the situation in Gaza and lead to military escalation.
It also assured that Israel reached a temporary solution with Jordan regarding the Mercy gate, in order to prevent any escalation at the mosque to effect the situation in Gaza strip, especially as the Israeli elections approach.
