‘Israel’ orders to halt construction of 22 Palestinian houses in Nablus
Nablus (QNN)- The Israeli occupation government on Monday ordered a halt on the construction of 22 Palestinian houses in the village of Qusra, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
Local sources said the Israeli forces yesterday delivered stop-construction orders against 22 Palestinian houses in the village of Qusra, a village encircled by illegal settlements and outposts south of the city of Nablus.
The forces also delivered a demolition order against an agricultural structure.
The Israeli settlements of Migdalim and Shilo were built on land belonging to Qusra residents in the 1970s, and have since grown to border the village to the northeast and south.
Over the past two decades, three additional settler outposts were established on the village’s lands, including Esh Kodesh.
Ignoring Palestinian needs, Israeli occupation authorities practically ban Palestinian construction and development. At the same time, it encourages the development of illegal Israeli settlements.
The Israeli occupation authorities also routinely demolish Palestinian houses and structures in the occupied West Bank, claiming that the structures have been built without a permit, rarely, if ever, issued for Palestinians.
They also order Palestinian owners to self-demolish their own houses or pay the costs of the demolition if they do not.
There are nearly 700,000 Israeli settlers living in 256 illegal settlements and outposts scattered across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Israeli settlements are illegal under international law.
