Israel Kills Two Palestinians in Tubas, Launches Arrest Campaign Across West Bank
Occupied West Bank (Quds News Network)- The Israeli army conducted a large-scale arrest campaign across the occupied West Bank on Monday. The campaign targeted several areas, focusing on the governorates of Jenin and Hebron. In Tubas, northern West Bank, Israeli forces killed two Palestinian men.
In Hebron, Israeli forces stormed the city and nearby areas, including Dura, Surif, and Al-Fawwar refugee camp. Witnesses reported house raids, arrests, and field interrogations. They also noted that soldiers vandalized property and mistreated residents during the raids.
In the town of Ya’bad near Jenin, Israeli forces arrested at least 22 Palestinians. Witnesses said the military continues its attacks there, carrying out house-to-house searches.
Israeli troops raided Tubas early Monday, leading to fierce armed clashes with local Palestinians. Witnesses heard explosions and reported heavy military reinforcements entering the city. Two Palestinians were killed during the raid, which also targeted a currency exchange shop.
Israeli forces arrested a Palestinian woman near the Za’im military checkpoint east of Jerusalem on Sunday evening. In Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, soldiers injured six residents during an assault and forced businesses to close. Witnesses said Israeli troops fired indiscriminately in the streets and occupied rooftops.
In Qalqilya and Haris, west of Salfit, Israeli forces conducted additional raids. However, no clashes or injuries were reported.
In Al-Walaja, south of Jerusalem, Israeli forces demolished two homes, each about 350 square meters, justifying that with the lack of building permits. Local council member Anwar Abu Teen revealed that around 70 homes in the village face demolition threats for the same reason.
The Israeli army has intensified its operations across the West Bank in parallel with ongoing attacks on Gaza. Official Palestinian data indicates 807 Palestinians have been killed and 6,450 injured in the West Bank since October 7, 2023.
Tensions remain high as Israeli forces continue arrests, demolitions, and military incursions, alongside settler violence in several areas, including the occupied Palestinian capital city, Jerusalem.
