Israel kills two journalists, death toll rises to 165

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Israel’s military has assassinated two journalists in Gaza today, raising the death toll among journalists to 165.

The Governments Media Office stated that the death toll among journalists in Gaza has risen to 156 after the murder of Al Jazeera reported Ismail Al-Ghoul and photojournalist Rami Al-Rifi.

“The Government Media Office condemns in the strongest terms the targeting and killing of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation”, it stated. “We hold Israel fully responsible for committing this heinous crime. We call on the international community, international organizations, and entities related to journalism worldwide to take action against the occupation, prosecute it in international courts for its ongoing crimes, and exert pressure to halt the genocide and the killing and assassination of Palestinian journalists.”

Both journalists were in Al-Shate’ refugee camp in Gaza, covering the aftermaths of the assassination of the head of Hamas’ political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh.

In the same context, the International Federation of Journalists – IFJ condemned Israel’s targeting of journalists and called on the occupation state of Israel to stop killing journalists.
