Israel kills IUG President Prof. Sufian Taih

Gaza (QNN)- Today, Saturday, Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip killed the President of the Islamic University of Gaza  (IUG) Prof. Sufian Taih in Jabalia, northern the Gaza Strip.

Prof. Sufian Taih was ranked among the world’s  2% top researchers in 2021. He was awarded Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Young Arab Scientists. He holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics and Applied Mathematics and was appointed as the UNESCO Chair in Physics, Astronomy, and Space Sciences in Palestine.

Tragically, Israel’s army targeted him and his family in Al-Falouja neighborhood in Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip.

After a humanitarian truce that lasted for 6 days, Israel resumed the war on Gaza yesterday, Friday. Since then, Israel committed horrific massacres against civilians in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of over 240 civilians and 589 injuries in less than two days. This adds to the total of over 15,000 deaths and 30,000 injuries since the 7th of October as reported by the Ministry of Health in Gaza. 

The Israeli military has been accused of targeting doctors, scientists, and journalists as part of an operation against Gaza’s educated people.
