Israel Kills Gaza Crime Unit Leader and Family in Their Tent

Gaza (Quds News Network)- An Israeli airstrike killed Saqr Ahmad Tlaib, his wife Hind Abu Al-Kas, and their three children—Ahmad, Hamza, and Abdulaziz—while they slept in their tent in Sabra neighborhood in southern Gaza City.
Tlaib led the local anti-looting and property protection unit in Sabra. He was working to stop Israeli-backed armed gangs that emerged during Gaza’s deepening humanitarian crisis. His killing has sparked outrage among residents, activists, and local media.
Eyewitnesses say Israeli warplanes targeted the family’s tent directly, according to Shms News Agency. The modest shelter offered no protection. The strike wiped out the entire family in a deliberate assassination.
Tlaib had no known enemies except those benefiting from chaos—armed criminals and collaborators with Israel, according to his relatives. “Saqr was a thorn in the side of thieves and traitors,” said a cousin to the agency. “He didn’t bother anyone, except those who don’t want Gaza to stay clean.”
Another relative added, “Saqr hurt the occupiers and their allies. So they silenced him. But he lives on in our hearts.”
Tlaib’s efforts disrupted looting and protected food supplies. His patrols clashed with armed gangs targeting markets, storage facilities, and aid convoys. That made him a target.
In recent weeks, Gaza has seen a rise in theft and lawlessness as Israel continues to starve the people and protect armed gangs. Factions and tribes have condemned the chaos, saying it plays into Israel’s goal of destroying Gaza’s social fabric.
The Interior Ministry in Gaza vowed to keep pursuing criminals and armed gangs. Officials say Israel’s genocide has left the community more vulnerable than ever.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s assault has killed over 52,576 Palestinians and injured more than 118,610. Over 14,000 remain missing, many buried under rubble. Entire families—more than 2,220—have been wiped out.
Talib’s death added one more to that grim list. His story now joins those of countless others resisting war and disorder. In Gaza today, even keeping the streets safe can cost your life.
