Israel Kills Government Officials, Children, and Women in War Claimed to Target Hamas

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Israel resumed its genocidal war on Gaza early Tuesday, killing over 400 civilians, including children, women, and four senior government officials in airstrikes.

Among those killed were Issam Al-Daalis, the Acting Prime Minister; Mahmoud Abu Watfa, the Acting Minister of Interior; Bahjat Abu Sultan, the Internal Security Chief; and Abu Omar Al-Hatta, the Acting Minister of Justice.

The Palestinian government, divided between Gaza and the West Bank, is made up of professional officials who are not necessarily aligned with Palestinian factions. Their role is to manage the daily and administrative affairs of the Palestinian people. Israel has been attempting to frame the government and its officials as being loyal to Hamas in order to justify targeting them, an action that constitutes a war crime.

The Israeli military resumed the genocide in Gaza, calling it “Operation Pride of the Sword”, claiming it was targeting Hamas. However, the attack violated the ceasefire agreement brokered by Qatar, Egypt, and the U.S. in January and killed mainly women and children.

Israeli airstrikes hit Gaza during the early morning hours, as families were preparing their pre-dawn meal for Ramadan. More than 400 Palestinians were killed, with hundreds more injured. Rescue teams continue to search for victims under the rubble.

This assault marks the largest breach of the ceasefire. Israel had already violated the ceasefire over 900 times. Israeli media reported that the new army chief, Eyal Zamir, had approved plans to intensify airstrikes, expand ground operations, and forcibly remove Palestinians from northern Gaza.
