Israel Kills 13,000 Palestinian Students Amid Gaza Genocide
Gaza (Quds News Network)- The Ministry of Education reported on Tuesday that Israeli forces have killed approximately 13,000 Palestinian students since the Israeli genocide in Gaza began on October 7, 2023. The ongoing genocide has also injured over 21,000 students in Gaza and the West Bank.
Thousands of Palestinian Students Killed or Injured
According to the ministry, 12,000 Palestinian students were killed in Gaza, while 120 lost their lives in the West Bank. In Gaza alone, 21,000 students suffered injuries, while in the West Bank, 655 students were injured, and 548 were arrested.
The education sector has also faced significant losses among its staff. The ministry stated that 630 educators have been killed, 3,865 wounded, and 185 detained in the West Bank.
The Israeli offensive has disrupted education for 788,000 students in Gaza, who remain unable to attend school or university due to the ongoing genocide.
Educational Institutions Targeted
Israeli forces have attacked numerous educational facilities. The ministry reported that 425 government schools, universities, and related institutions in Gaza, along with 65 UNRWA facilities, have been targeted. These attacks destroyed 77 facilities completely and severely damaged another 171.
In the West Bank, Israeli forces raided and vandalized 109 schools and seven universities
The Palestinian Ministry of Education condemned the attacks, calling them a violation of international law and an assault on the right to education.
