Israel imposes general closure on West Bank and Gaza ahead of Passover

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Israeli authorities declared that a nine-day general closure of the occupied West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip will commence on Friday ahead of the Jewish holiday of Passover.
The general closure will commence on Friday, April 19th and will last until midnight on Saturday, April 27th, as Israelis celebrate the Passover holiday.
All checkpoints and border crossings to the West Bank and Gaza will be sealed off and entry to Israel for all Israeli-issued permit holders will be banned, affecting the livelihoods of the tens of thousands of Palestinians.
Meanwhile, only Jewish people, including illegal settlers in the occupied West Bank, will still be permitted to move between the West Bank and Israel.
More than 2 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have been sealed inside the coastal enclave due to a decade long military blockade imposed by Israel and upheld by Egypt on the southern border.
Only 200 Christians from Gaza, who are over 55 years old, were allowed to travel to Jordan only, while Israel refuses to issue permits for other hundreds of Palestinian Christians wishing to visit the Church of Nativity in occupied Bethlehem or the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in occupied Jerusalem.
