Israel Helped Create Gaza Aid Foundation for Infamous Aid Plan, Israeli Ambassador Admits

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter has revealed that Israel was directly involved in creating the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF)—a controversial new organization tasked with controlling aid to Gaza. The admission came during an interview published Saturday on the conservative American YouTube channel PragerU.
Although Israel previously framed the initiative as an independent US-led project tied to the release of Israeli soldier Edan Alexander, Leiter contradicted that narrative.
“We’ve created it together with the United States mostly,” he said.
Former US Military at the Helm
Leiter explained that GHF will be operated by US special forces veterans. He said the distribution sites would be protected by private contractors, including former US Marines and Navy personnel.
This statement confirms earlier reporting by Quds News Network, which exposed the foundation’s deep ties to military and pro-Israel figures.
GHF was registered in Switzerland in early 2025. Its proposal outlines the creation of four large aid hubs inside Gaza, each serving 300,000 people. Meals will be delivered at a cost of $1.31 each. All operations will be coordinated from Israeli-controlled entry points like Ashdod port and Kerem Shalom crossing, with private security firms managing logistics and protection.
This setup gives Israel sweeping control over humanitarian relief while outsourcing its legal responsibilities under international law.
UN and Aid Groups Reject Militarized Model
The United Nations and several international aid organizations have rejected the GHF model. They stress that it militarizes humanitarian aid and turns relief into a weapon of war. Under international law, including Article 59 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, humanitarian aid must remain neutral, independent, and civilian in nature.
Despite this, hundreds of aid trucks remain stalled at Gaza’s borders, blocked by Israel. The GHF plan offers no alternative that meets legal or ethical standards for impartial aid delivery.
Forced Displacement Strategy and Human Rights Violations
Israel has publicly declared its goal of pushing Gazans toward the south. The GHF plan would help enable this strategy by making aid conditional on movement, possibly as a prelude to mass displacement.
Rami Abdu, founder of Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, warned on Saturday that Israel is preparing a massive media and propaganda campaign to encourage civilians to approach designated “security points” to receive aid.
He said large quantities of food will be distributed in the first phase to tempt residents into cooperating. If response levels are high, Israel will reportedly escalate the plan by requiring prior registration and relocation to designated southern zones. Later stages may limit access based on age, targeting youth in particular.
“This raises serious concerns about covert security objectives and a possible plan for gradual, large-scale forced displacement,” Abdu said.
If the plan fails in its early stages, Abdu added, it could mark a turning point—possibly slowing or halting the genocide. Either outcome, he said, underscores the need for vigilance and resistance to the manipulation of aid for political and military goals.
Internal documents from the GHF, obtained by The Washington Post, echoed these concerns, revealing fears that the group might be perceived as running ‘concentration camps with biometrics’ and drawing comparisons to the notorious mercenary company Blackwater.
As more information emerges, it becomes clear that aid in Gaza is no longer a purely humanitarian matter. Instead, it is increasingly being used as a strategic weapon—part of a wider US-Israeli agenda to reshape the territory’s future through control, coercion, and displacement.
