Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Since the start of 2021, Israeli occupation raided and destroyed 11 Palestinian bookstores, printing presses, and media offices, the Palestinian Ministry of Information said in a statement on Thursday.
The Ministry said during the 11-day of deadly aggression on the Gaza Strip last May, the occupation state destroyed four printing presses or publishing houses and four bookshops.
While in the occupied West Bank, Israeli occupation forces destroyed and ransacked equipment in three printing presses in Ramallah, Bethlehem and in Izzariyeh after raiding them.
They also ordered closure of the Ramallah-based printing press, Bisan, for six months.
The forces also detained the bookstores and the printing presses owners after raiding their own structures.
Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses, stores and structures almost on a daily basis across the occupied West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
Moreover, Israel’s 11-day aggression on the Gaza Strip started on May 10 and ended with a ceasefire brokered by mediator Egypt on May 21, killing at least 279 Palestinians, including 69 children and 40 women and injuring 1,910 others.
19 families in the Gaza Strip have been wiped off the population civil registry during Israel’s 11-day aggression, the Palestinian Health Ministry said, including 41 children and 25 women.
More than 90,000 Palestinians were displaced from their homes, and much of Gaza’s infrastructure and many residential buildings were completely destroyed or levelled.
