‘Israel’ demolishes West Bank water well

Salfit (QNN)- The Israeli authorities demolished a water well in the village of Zawiyah in western Salfit and notified villagers of 10 other demolitions, on Sunday.
The mayor of Zawiyeh, Mahmoud Mawqidi, told QNN that “over 100 Israeli soldiers accompanied by vehicles and bulldozers demolished a water well owned by Muath Musleh in the western area of the village and notified the locals of plans to demolish 10 other water wells, which the soldiers said that they will come back to demolish”.
“The villagers gathered in the area, which was probably the reason why the occupation forces could not continue the demolitions”, he added.
He also stressed that “the locals will continue to hold protests in the area, like they had done before, to prevent the occupation forces from demolishing water wells.” The villages had held protests, which prevented the occupation state from building the apartheid wall on the village’s land.
“The locals of Zawiya, as well as the municipality, are determined to continue construction and cultivation [in their land] in order to prevent the occupation state from confiscating it”, Mawqidi said. “If they demolish a water well, we will build another. We will never give up our plans to construct roads and establish infrastructure for the locals”.
