‘Israel’ declares leading Palestinian NGOs to be PFLP-affiliates
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Israeli occupation government declared several leading Palestinian NGOs to be affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), according to a document released by its Justice Ministry.
The six NGOs that will be designated as PFLP-related are Addameer, Al Haq, Bisan Center, DCI-P, Samidoun and UAWC.
Israel’s War Minister Benny Gantz on Friday signed the declaration that designated the six organizations linked to the PFLP.
“The organization is an arm of the terrorist organization the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine,” a sentence that reads in the document under each NGO’s logo, and included the organization’s URL, address and phone number.
The decision was made by the Justice Ministry according to a law relating to the fight against terror.
According to claims made by the NGO Monitor, seven senior officials within Addameer, one of the affected NGOs, have been identified as having links to the PFLP.
“Although the PFLP is a declared terrorist organization in the United States, Israel, Canada, and the European Union, many European governments have continued to invest in PFLP-linked NGOs for 20 years, severely exploiting their taxpayers’ money,” Professor Gerald Steinberg, president of NGO Monitor claimed on Friday on the connection between PFLP and the NGOs.
“These recurring cases point to a widespread phenomenon and it is time for Europeans to freeze grants and set up independent mechanisms for evaluating funding for NGOs.”
The groups that were declared to be “terror affiliated” were presented as social advocacy organizations but according to security officials were an arm of a group “set on the destruction of Israel through terrorist means,” according to claims made by Israel’s Ministry of War.
