Israel claimed it killed Hezbollah Leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- The Israeli army said it has killed Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah following airstrikes on the party’s headquarters in the southern suburbs of Beirut on Friday night. Avichay Adraee, spokesperson for the Israeli army, also announced on X that the strikes killed Ali Karaki, Hezbollah’s Southern Front commander, along with several other senior leaders.
In his first statement following the operation’s success, Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi stated, “This is not the last of what we have in store. The message is simple: anyone who threatens Israeli citizens will be found and dealt with.”
Earlier, Israeli officials informed The New York Times that preliminary assessments from Israeli intelligence indicated that Nasrallah had been killed. One senior official mentioned that the goal of Friday’s airstrikes was to dismantle Hezbollah’s leadership, which, if successful, could allow Israel to avoid a ground invasion of Lebanon.
The airstrikes come on the 358th day of Israel’s war on Gaza, marking a significant escalation in the region. In retaliation for the attack on Beirut’s southern suburbs, Hezbollah launched dozens of rockets into Israel, further heightening tensions.
Iran quickly condemned Israel’s actions, warning that the strikes had crossed its “red lines.” Several nations have since expressed concern over the potential for a full-scale war in the region.
Friday night’s air raids caused widespread panic across Beirut, as explosions echoed throughout the city. Smoke was seen rising from multiple locations in the southern suburbs, leaving residents in fear of further escalation.
