Israel bombs civilians performing prayers over destroyed mosque

Gaza (Quds News Network)- A devastating Israeli airstrike killed 20 Palestinians and injured several others in Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City. The attack targeted a prayer area, which was built on the ruins of a destroyed mosque, adding to the mounting toll of the ongoing genocide.

Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense, confirmed the Israeli airstrike on the “White Mosque” in Al-Shati area. Earlier, Basal noted that heavy shelling had hit Al-Shati camp, resulting in numerous casualties. Eyewitnesses reported that shells fell on a small prayer area set up on the ruins of the White Mosque, previously destroyed by Israel. The attack caused multiple deaths and injuries, prompting families of the martyrs to gather at the prayer site to prepare for funerals and burials nearby.

Earlier today, the Israeli army carried out a massacre in Muwasi area, west of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, this attack resulted in 90 Palestinian victims and hundreds of injuries, including critically injured individuals. This massacre further exacerbates the dire situation in Gaza, where medical facilities are overwhelmed.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating offensive on Gaza, with American support. This genocide has resulted in over 126,000 Palestinian casualties, including a significant number of children and women. Additionally, over 10,000 people are reported missing amid widespread destruction and famine, which has claimed the lives of dozens of children.

Despite two United Nations Security Council resolutions demanding an immediate ceasefire and orders from the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza, Israel continues its attacks.
