“Israel” bans Palestinian newborns from traveling
The Israeli occupation authorities prevented 5 Palestinian families from traveling, for the same reason, after the Palestinian Authority stopped security coordination with "Israel"
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to intervene to stop the Israeli occupation from banning Palestinian families who have given new babies recently from traveling.
Ahmed Al-Deek, the political advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, said in a press statement that the Israeli occupation authorities prevented a Palestinian family, heading to Chicago, from crossing to Jordan, under the pretext that their youngest son, Laith Muhammad Ali Ahmed, was not included in the father’s ID card. However, the father said he registered his child in his ID card one week after his birth.
Al-Deek added that this decision is “part of the collective punishment imposed on our people” and a “clear violation of international law and the duties imposed on the occupying power towards the occupied people and their freedom of movement.”
The Israeli occupation authorities prevented 5 Palestinian families from traveling, for the same reason, after the Palestinian Authority stopped security coordination with “Israel”, thus, stopping the transfer of birth records in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to the Israeli authorities.
According to the statistics of the Palestinian Ministry of Interior, more than 25,000 Palestinians have been born since the security coordination was stopped.
