Israel attacks school in Gaza killing 31 displaced civilians

Gaza (Quds News Network)- The Gaza Media Office reported today that 31 Palestinians, including children, were killed and dozens injured due to an Israeli airstrike on a field hospital within Al-Sayyida Khadija School in Deir Al-Balah. The school, situated in a supposedly safe area, shelters thousands of displaced individuals and was hit by three missiles from Israeli warplanes.

The targeted school lies within a newly designated humanitarian zone, according to recent claims by the Israeli occupation army. This zone stretches along the coastline from Al-Zawayda to south of Khan Yunis.

Hamas condemned the attack as a “brutal crime,” highlighting the Israeli forces’ disregard for human values and international laws that protect civilians. The statement criticized the ongoing massacres committed by the Israeli occupation army, aided by unwavering American political and military support.

Hamas urged the Arab and Islamic nations to intervene and stop the ongoing war and destruction in Gaza. They called on the international community and the United Nations to hold Israel accountable for its crimes against civilians.

In a response, the Israeli army admitted to bombing the school in Deir al-Balah, claiming it housed a Hamas command center. However, Hamas emphasized that the school sheltered unarmed civilians, primarily women and children, who were among the victims.

Since October 7, Israel’s military actions in Gaza, supported by the United States, have resulted in over 129,000 Palestinian casualties, according to estimates by The Lancet with many women and children among them, and more than 10,000 missing. Every time after it committed massacres, targeting civilians, Israel claims that it targeted resistance members.
