Israel attacks Hezbollah Headquarters in southern Beirut

Beirut (Quds News Network)- Israel carried out a series of airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs on Friday, targeting what they described as Hezbollah’s central command post. The attacks are being considered some of the most intense in recent memory, with Israeli reports suggesting that the strikes may have aimed at Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s headquarters.

The strikes resulted in at least 10 explosions across the southern suburb of Beirut, known as Dahieh. The bombings struck areas near the airport road, Bir Hassan, and the vicinity of Al-Zahraa Hospital, causing widespread destruction. Buildings were reduced to rubble, and thick plumes of smoke billowed from the Harat Hreik neighborhood.

The Israeli military confirmed the attack, stating that it had hit ‘key Hezbollah infrastructure’, but it did not provide further specifics regarding the potential targeting of Nasrallah’s headquarters. Lebanese officials have yet to officially comment on the possibility that Nasrallah himself was the intended target.

This latest assault comes amid ongoing Israeli attacks, with skirmishes along the Israeli-Lebanese border intensifying in recent weeks.

Israeli media outlets reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu abruptly left a press briefing in New York following news of the attack in Beirut.

Eyewitnesses on the ground described the aftermath as devastating, with entire buildings leveled and debris scattered throughout the affected areas.
