‘Israel’ arrests writer and his brother in occupier Haifa

Occupied Haifa (QNN)- Israeli police on Tuesday arrested the writer and journalist Majd Kayyal and his brother Ward from their house in occupied Haifa.

Their mother, Suheir Badarneh, said Israeli police broke into their house at 6:00 am this morning, went to Majd’s bedroom, and handcuffed him before they closed the room’s door and vandalized it.

She added that they ordered her to call Ward, who was outside and when she refused to call him they called and threatened him to arrest his mother if he does not turn himself in.

The Israeli police confiscated Majd’s and Ward’s cell phones and laptops and prevented Majd’s girlfriend from taking photos or videotaping the Israeli raid. The police did not explain the reason behind the arrest.

Majd Kayyal is a journalist and novelist, born in 1990 in occupied Haifa. His family was displaced from the village of Al Barweh. He wrote “the tragedy of Mr. rain”, “Death in Haifa” series, and “How would the Zionist regime change?”. He also wrote the lyrics of the recently published album “More beautiful than Berlin”. He had been previously arrested in 2014 after he came back from a visit to Beirut.
