Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Israeli occupation has arrested more than 750 Palestinian children and minors since the start of 2022 and over 9300 children since 2015, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said on Saturday.

Marking World Children’s Day, which is celebrated on November 20, the PPS issued today a report in which it confirmed that Israeli occupation authorities have arrested more than 750 Palestinian children and minors since the start of the year, some of them were first shot and injured by Israeli forces before being arrested. Most of the arrest operations were carried out in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

The PPS added that there are currently 160 Palestinian children and minors, all under the age of 18, held in the Israeli occupation prisons of Damon, Ofer, and Megiddo.

Among the 160 children and minors are three girls, two of them are 16 years old and the third is 17 years old.

Five minors are currently held under Israel’s administrative detention without charge or trial and based on secret evidence.

The group said that 9300 Palestinian children have been arrested by the Israeli occupation since 2015, adding 2000 children were arrested in 2015 alone.

The PPS noted in the report that most of the children were subjected to several kinds of physical and psychological torture during their arrest, in violation of international agreements and conventions on the rights of children, and held in Israeli prisons under harsh conditions.
