‘Israel’ arrested 745 children this year

Ramallah (QNN)- The Palestinian Prisoners club said the Israeli authorities have arrested 745 Palestinian children under the age of 18 since the start of this year until the end of October.

A statement by the watchdog group stated that one day before the international children’s day, the Israeli authorities continue to hold nearly 200 children in the Israeli jails of Magiddo, Ofer, Damon, and other detention centers.

The center revealed that Israeli forces commit several violations against Palestinian children during arrest. The violations start as soon as they are brutally taken from their houses in late night hours and continue until being held and interrogated in poor humanitarian conditions.

After 2015, several deliberate shootings targeting children under arrest have been documented. During interrogation, many children were deprived of food and water, brutally beaten, insulted, threatened, and intimidated. There are also cases, in which children were put under pressure to confess and had to pay high fines.

The report also stated that Palestinian children, who get arrested, are denied their right of education, while some of them are denied family visits and medical treatment.

The occupation state has sentenced several children to lengthy jail sentences, some of them have reached 10 years. Some children were also sent to administrative detention, in which children get arrested without charges or trials. Suleiman Abu Ghoush (17 years old), Nidal Amer (17 years old) and Hafez Zioud (16 years old) are among dozens of Palestinian children, who were arrested under administrative detention.
