‘Israel’ arrested 450 Palestinian children since start of 2022, says watchdog
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Israeli occupation has arrested around 450 Palestinian children since the start of this year, including 353 from occupied Jerusalem, the Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs said Tuesday.
The Commission noted that the Israeli occupation is still holding 170 Palestinian minors in its prisons, adding there are dozens others who were minors when they were arrested and sentenced, most prominent Ahmad Manasra who was arrested and sentenced to 12 years in Israeli prisons when he was 14 years old.
In 2021, the Commission said, ‘Israel’ arrested 1,300 Palestinian children and more than 53,000 Palestinian children since 1967.
Stressing that the Israeli occupation deals with Palestinian children like adults, the Commission noted they are also subjected to the same torture, investigation and detention conditions.
The Commission said the Israeli occupation does not even “respect international laws and conventions when it comes to dealing with minors.”
