‘Israel’ approves withdrawing residency from Palestinian-French lawyer
Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- Israeli authorities on Monday approved a decision to withdraw the residency from the Palestinian-French lawyer Salah Hammouri.
Israeli minister of interior, Aryeh Deri, had informed Hammouri that the procedures to withdraw his residency had started in September 2020. He told ‘Al Araby’ that the decision is permanent, however, he will file a petition against the decision of the Israeli central court then the Israeli supreme court.
Hamouri had been arrested several times between 2001 and 2020, however, no charges were filed against him. The occupation state also expelled his French wife in 2016.
Hammouri is Palestinian originally from Jerusalem. His mother is French, so he has his mother’s nationality as well. In 2014, he got married to Elsa Lefort, an employee of the Institut français du Proche-Orient, resident in the eastern part of Jerusalem and daughter of the French politician, long-time French Communist Party deputy and secretary to Georges Marchais Jean-Claude Lefort.
The occupation state tries, by all means, to ethnically cleanse the Palestinian capital city, emptying it from native Palestinians. ‘Israel’ withdrew residency from dozens of detainees, including Munir Rajabi, Abed Dwayyat, Muhammad Abu Kaf, and Walid Al Atrash.
