Iraqi parliament passes bill criminalizing normalization with ‘Israel’
Occupied Palestine (QNN) – Iraqi Parliament voted on Thursday on a bill to criminalize normalization of ties with the Israeli occupation.
In its statement, the media office of the Parliament said that the assembly voted during its session today on a proposed bill criminalizing the normalization of ties with the Zionist entity.
Following two readings of the bill by the members of parliament, the proposed law was unanimously approved by 275 lawmakers out of the parliament’s 329 members.
The bill mandates the punishment of any person or entity that seeks to normalize or establish ties with ‘Israel’ in any form or field.
“We affirm that this law, which was unanimously voted by the voters, represents a true reflection of the will of the people, a brave national decision, and a position that is the first of its kind in the world in terms of criminalizing the relationship with the Zionist entity,” the parliament said.
It called on the Arab and Islamic parliaments to issue similar legislation that meets the aspirations of their peoples.
