Iran Slams Germany Over Israel Remarks: “Stay Silent, You Started Two World Wars”
Tehran (Quds News Network)- Iran’s Foreign Ministry has criticized Germany over recent statements on the Israeli assault on Iran.
Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, reminded Berlin of its historical legacy.
“Germany ignited two world wars,” he wrote in a post. “Iran sheltered Jews fleeing Hitler — ask Polish and French refugees who received Iranian passports.”
He added, “Those perpetually on the wrong side of history best stay silent now.”
Baghaei’s remarks came after Germany condemned Iran’s expected retaliation against Israeli strikes. Tehran viewed Berlin’s comments as hostile and historically blind.
The German Foreign Office confirmed that Israel had struck Iranian sites overnight. Yet it only condemned Iran’s response, not Israel’s actions.
“The situation has dramatically escalated,” Germany said in a statement following the first Israeli assault that initiated the war. “Israel has carried out targeted strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities. Iran is responding with hundreds of drone attacks on Israel. This development is more than alarming.”
Berlin called Iran’s expected response “indiscriminate” and “dangerous.”
“We strongly condemn the indiscriminate Iranian attack on Israeli territory,” the German statement said.
Germany also raised concerns about Iran’s nuclear program.
“Iran’s nuclear program violates the Non-Proliferation Treaty and threatens the region — especially Israel,” the statement said.
Berlin repeated its full support for the occupation state.
“Israel has the right to defend its existence and the security of its citizens,” Germany stressed.
Iran rejected this narrative, highlighting its commitment to humanitarian principles and accusing Germany of ignoring Israel’s nuclear arsenal.
Hungary’s incoming prime minister Péter Magyar has disputed claims that Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu was formally invited to Budapest, saying he would face detention if he enters Hungary under an active warrant from the International Criminal Court.
US President Donald Trump says Israel did not push him into war with Iran, yet he cites the October 7 military operation on Israel as his main justification, an argument that exposes a clear contradiction at the heart of his decision.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that the Christian population in Israel is “thriving,” despite a documented increase in Israeli attacks on Palestinian Christians. His remarks came after a photo showing an Israeli soldier desecrating a statue of Jesus Christ with a sledgehammer in southern Lebanon triggered widespread condemnation.
