IPS send prisoner to hospital, prevent lawyers’ visitation after revealing that he has cancer

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The family of the prisoner Muhammad Ayed Salahiddin (20 years old) said that the Israeli Prison Service (IPS) informed them that their son has cancer and that he had been sent to a hospital a few days ago due to his critical condition.
Muhammad’s brother, Rushdi, told QNN that the IPS transferred Muhammad from Ofer military jail to Shaare Zedek hospital nine days ago but his family did not know that he has cancer until today.
He added that the IPS refuses to allow lawyers’ visitation, which further increases the worries of the family.
Roshdi stressed that his brother wasn’t sick before being arrested. He did not have any disease and he was in very good health.
During his arrest, Israeli soldiers shot Muhammad in his leg and the pain has never stopped ever since as the IPS only gave him cortizone-based drugs.
Muhammad is from Hizma in East Jerusalem. He was arrested on April 2019 and sentenced to two years in jail.
Rushdi called on human rights organizations to immediately intervene to save the life of his brother.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Association said that nearly 300 Palestinian prisoners suffer from chronic diseases, including over ten cancer patients.
