Invoking combating crime… Israeli authorities grant police wider power against 1948 Palestinians

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Israeli government on Sunday approved a bill, suggested by the minister of justice, to grant the Israeli police wider power, enabling it of carrying out search operations in Palestinian areas in the 1948-occupied territories.
Israeli Kan channel claimed that the law comes as part of “steps, which aim at combating violence and crime, especially in Arabic cities and villages.”
It added that the new law enables police to carry out searches in Palestinian areas even without a court order.
Experts fear that the law could be a tool to repress Palestinians in the 1948-occupied territories, especially as the occupation state has already approved other laws allowing the Israeli army and Shin Bet of operating more among Palestinians.
