Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- The Israeli police and Shin Bet on Wednesday cracked down on a peaceful protest in solidarity with Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, head of the higher Islamic commission in Occupied Jerusalem.

QNN correspondent said that dozens of protesters protested in front of the Sheik’s house in the occupied Palestinian capital, rejecting the Israeli policy of targeting him. Members of the Israeli police and Shin Bet cracked down on the protesters, trying to repress the protest.

She added that they attacked the protesters and pushed them away. The protesters included the defense council of Sheikh Sabri.

Four protesters were arrested, while Israeli Shin Bet summoned four journalists, who were covering the protest, for interrogation.

The Shin Bet also published an order, preventing any protests in Suwwaneh neighborhood in Jerusalem.

Israeli police had arrested Sheikh Sabri from his house last week before releasing him and preventing him from entering Al Aqsa mosque for a week. It also ordered him to revisit the police station to extend his entry ban order into the holy mosque.
