Al-Bireh (QNN)- Extremist Israeli settlers vandalized several Palestinian-owned vehicles and wrote racist graffiti on walls of houses in Al-Bireh city in the central West Bank, this morning.

Local sources said a group of Israeli fanatics sneaked into the city during the early morning hours and slashed the tires of three Palestinian-owned vehicles.

They also wrote hate graffiti in Hebrew on the walls of Palestinian houses calling for the death of Arabs.

There has been a sharp spike in settler violence against Palestinians in the OPT.

The violence acts include destroying trees and crops, stealing crops, using live fire, damaging homes and cars, throwing stones, issuing threats and torching fields.

There are nearly 700,000 Israeli settlers living in 256 illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Israeli settlements are illegal under international law.

On Saturday, 144 incidents of Israeli settler violence were reported. According to Palestinian official Ghassan Daghlas, settlers destroyed 120 vehicles by throwing stones at them south of Nablus, burned six vehicles in the town of Majdal Bani Fadel and attacked 22 shops in Hawara.

The violence has been condoned by the new far-right Israeli government of Benjamin Netanyahu, with incitement from his ultranationalist cabinet ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich.
