Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- 266 Israeli settlers led by the Israeli minister of agriculture broke on Monday into the courtyards of Al Aqsa mosque.

The settlers broke into the mosque entering in large groups, protected by Israeli forces, from the Magarbeh gate.

Local sources said that the settlers broke into the mosque to perform rituals in the courtyards of the mosque.

Guards of Al Aqsa mosuqe tried to prevent the settlers from breaking into the mosque, however only two settlers were forced to leave and stop performing rituals inside the mosque.

Thousands of Israeli extremist settlers performed rituals at different areas of Al Aqsa mosque, especially at Al Buraq wall and the southern area of the mosque.

The Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs said that Israel has been using Jewish holidays to serve the Israeli settlement project, making it easier for settlers to break into Palestinian heritage and religious sites.
