Gaza (QNN)- Dozens of Palestinian protesters were reportedly wounded during the Israeli repression of the 69th protest on Gaza borders, which was held under the title “Wadi Hummus massacre”.
Spokesperson of the Palestinian ministry of health in Gaza, Dr. Ashraf Qudra, said that 49 peaceful protesters were injured; 24 of whom by live bullets and 2 are journalists.
Eyewitnesses revealed that journalist Usama Kahlout was shot in the leg by an Israeli live bullet, while photojournalist Hatem Omar was shot by a rubber-coated metal bullet in his legs while covering the protests.
Medical sources said that Israeli soldiers, stationed behind earthen berms and military towers, targeted the peaceful protesters with live and rubber-coated metal bullets in addition to tear and stun grenades.
Thousands of Palestinians have been participating in the weekly Great Return March protests on Gaza borders, against the Israeli siege on the heavy-populated enclave and demanding their right to return to their lands, from which they were displaced in 1948.
