In Pictures: Funeral procession for Hamas’s Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran
Tehran (Quds News Network)- The funeral procession for Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh was held in Iran’s capital Tehran on Thursday.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei led prayers for the Haniyeh at the University of Tehran, having earlier threatened a “harsh punishment” for his killing.
In the capital’s city centre, thousands of Iranian mourners carrying posters of Haniyeh and Palestinian flags gathered for the ceremony at Tehran University.
Haniyeh’s body will then be transferred to Qatar’s capital Doha on Thursday afternoon, ahead of his burial on Friday.
