Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- the Israeli police broke into Al Aqsa mosque and attacked worshipers after performing Dawn prayer on Friday.

QNN reporter said that thousands of Palestinian worshipers flocked to the holy mosque to perform Fajr prayer.

Before the prayer, the police imposed strict measures on Muslim worshipers and prevented them from taking any snacks or hot drinks with them, imposing fines on those who had any of them.

The police also prevented Muslim worshipers from staying near any of the gates of the holy mosque.

Following the Dawn prayer, large numbers of Israeli police broke into the courtyards of Al Aqsa mosque and attacked worshipers.

The police used stun grenades and rubber-coated metal bullets, leaving at least two injuries. The worshipers were attacked and forcefully pushed to leave the holy mosque.

Local sources stated that the Israeli police arrested a worshiper, who was identified as Murad Misk, the moment he went out from Hittah gate.

The Israeli escalation comes following calls by Muslims to increase their presence during Fajr prayers, as a protest against the Israeli policies, which aim at Judaizing the holy mosque and the whole city.
