In first, Israeli settlement products shipped to UAE
The first delivery of Israeli products from illegal Israeli settlements was shipped to the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, Israeli media reported.
The products included in the shipment are olive oil, wine and honey.
Yossi Dagan, who heads a council for illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, said these are the first export business deals organized between ‘Israel’ and UAE, calling it “a historic day for Samaria and the entire State of Israel.”
“We are finally bringing out the first pallets of olive oil and honey in a direct export from ‘Samaria’ to the [United ArabEmirates and, God willing, other Arab states in the future,” he said.
Last December, Israeli companies signed agreements with the United Arab Emirates to export their products to the UAE, after the UAE normalized relations with ‘Israel’ in a move that was followed by Bahrain, Sudan and recently Morocco.
Palestinians condemned the normalization agreements, saying they encouraged Israel’s denial of their rights and do not serve the Palestinian cause.
Palestinian group Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said on Sunday a statement that this move “is tantamount to encouraging Zionist settlement building on the occupied Palestinian lands.”
